First things first, what exactly is a pallet auction?
Good question! Pallets are large volumes of stock offered in bulk (normally from retailers) put into auction to sell for very reasonable prices. This is normally due to customer returns and the products are rejected for re-sale. In doing so they provide an opportunity for a partner or third party to present them for sale at a competitive price.
What sort of cost are these?
Because the retailer has rejected the items for resale (this can be for a number of reasons), these normally come at a very reasonable cost. There is, of course, an element of risk involved in that you don’t know exactly what condition the product will be in until you receive it.
What types of retailer do you receive pallets from?
This varies and we are growing which means more exciting retailers and products are coming through, but we have two regular auctions per week sourced from John Lewis featuring brand names including Smeg, Bosch, Samsung, Dyson and more.
I’ve had a look at a current live auction and there doesn’t seem to be a reserve, is this the case for all your pallet auctions?
Our auctions of items sourced from John Lewis are sold on a no reserve basis and you will find many other auctions where that is the case. It will always clearly state in the title if the lots are all going at no reserve.
I love a bargain but don’t have my own business - can anyone buy a pallet at auction?
Absolutely! There are many different devotees of these types of auction and by no means is it just independent businesses who get their hands on our pallets. We have a wide array of buyers, including consumers buying for personal use and people with the knowledge and skill to refurbish items that need some TLC. If you choose to go through the items on the pallet and sell them on individually, it’s a great way to make some money.
How do I know what’s included?
All the details of what’s included in each pallet is listed in the description, so you’ll know exactly what you’re bringing home. You just won’t know the condition until you open up your purchase.
What’s the catch?
There isn’t one, we promise! Not only are you getting your hands on a pallet-load of bargains but it’s also recycling product that would otherwise be sent to landfill and has the opportunity to make the lucky buyer a profit! What’s not to like?!
